Bengaluru: After media reports that he may replace Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa soon, Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Savadi made an emotional appeal to the party activists that he is not ambitious.

He requested party activists not to believe in the media reports and made it clear that his New Delhi visit was apolitical.

In a social media post, Savadi stated that media reports analysing that he may be made the new CM soon is false.

“This trend is bad for our society. The analysis is mere immature,” he said adding that at this point in time, the state and the citizens must focus on battling Corona.

“The media must understand this,” he said.

Giving the state BJP’s first anniversary celebration a skip, the DCM flew to New Delhi and reportedly met BL Santhsh, whose equation with CM BSY is said to be not as cordial as it should have been.

This immediately sparks talks about  possible leadership change in the state. Many looked at it as Savadi’s ambition to become the CM or his deperate bid to retain the DCM’s post.
