Bengaluru: In a sensational twist to the allegations made by Congress leader and real estate businessman Rakesh Malli against former underworld don Muthappa Rai, Manvith Rai, a close relative of the latter has confirmed that he was asked to “finish” the former.

Manvith, who is Muthappa’s nephew, made this allegation while speaking to Kannada news channel Public TV.

Speaking to the channel, Manvith said that he had made it clear to his uncle that he would commit such a crime.

In a video, Manvith explained that he was offered a sum of Rs 3 crores to do the job. “Muthappa Rai even threatened me,” he said.

He added that it is not possible for a person to remain in India because of Muthappa Rai’s “money power”.

Muthappa Rai is yet to react to the allegations.

It can be recalled that a few days ago, Rakesh Malli approached the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police and filed a complaint against Muthappa Rai for threatening to get him killed. This reportedly occurred after the two had an argument over finances. Malli is a close aide of Rai.
