Bengaluru: Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi talking of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vilas’, senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa has made a statement questioning the loyalty of the Muslims and the Christians towards India.
He had recently tried to justify why the Muslims were not issued tickets by the BJP and now, responding to a query as to why Christians too are sidelined by the party while issuing tickets, KSE has only reiterated his previous answer.
He justified the party’s decision saying that both communities show very little loyalty towards the country and the BJP will not issue tickets to such people.
“Tickets should not be given under the Muslim and Christian quotas. Tickets should only be given to those who are loyal to this nation…” he said.
Trying to defend his stance, he asked what the condition of the country would be if tickets are given to minorities who are not loyal to the country. “That is why the BJP did not give tickets under quota,” he explained.
It can be recalled that last week, KSE had said, “Muslims in the state have no faith in the BJP and hence we have decided not to give tickets to them.”
