Bengaluru: The state government has appointed MR Doreswamy as the new academic advisor (reforms) to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. He has been accorded cabinet status.

MR Doreswamy is the head of PES educational institutions which runs several colleges and universities in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

He has previously served as an MLC when he was nominated by Yediyurappa during the latter’s first term as Chief Minister.
