Bengaluru: In a major setback for the former energy minister, Congress strongman DK Shivakumar, the Karnataka High Court declined to cancel the ED summons issued against him.

This means DKShi and his four associates are now left with no option but to appear before the ED for an investigation.

The ED has issued a notice to DKShi and his four associates in connection with the cash found at his flat in New Delhi on 2017 August. This cash of Rs.8.60 crores was seized by the IT department at the time of raids.

Based on the IT raids, the ED has taken up the investigation and as per the preliminary findings, it had issued a summons to him and his associates. Fearing an arrest by the ED, DKShi and others had moved the High Court, but even the HC declined to give any relief to him.
