Bengaluru: JD(S) MLA Zameer Ahmed said on Sunday that he has voted for Congress in the crucial MLA polls which are underway in the state.

Speaking to reporters Zameer said, “Voted for Congress as there was no specific instruction from our party heads.”

It is learnt that two other JD(S) leaders Akhanda Shrinivas Murthy and T A Saravana also have voted for Congress.

Congress MLC Ugrappa reacting on the cross-voting by JD(S), defended the JDS(S) leaders’ decision and said, “No need to give importance to Zameer’s statement. He has given statement using freedom of expression right.”
