Bengaluru: Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, who has been mercilessly trolled for using the word ‘mini-mini powder’, has resorted to hitting back at the trolls.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Kumaraswamy justified the usage of the word and said that ‘mini-mini powder’ is a Kannada word that is widely used in rural pockets of Karnataka.

“Insulting or mocking usage of this word is nothing less than insulting rural Karnataka and Kannada. Anyway, the BJP people have their genes from Pakistan and they would want to belittle Kannada,” he said in one of the four tweets.

Earlier, HDK said that a vicious kind of politics is being played in the country and trolls are an integral part of this.

“The cowards who cannot stand up to a leader and fight him out, resort to mocking and ridiculing. The BJP is resorting to a similar act of cowardice using ‘Mini-mini powder,” he said.

Continuing his tweet, HDK said that he has not uttered a lie or used unparliamentary words. “I only read newspapers and based on those reports I spoke only the truth. Adithya Rao is being shielded by the BJP. This is the truth and the BJP is against truth and righteousness,” he said.

It may be recalled that HDK had held a news conference after a bomb was found in Mangaluru International Airport. During the interaction, he said that the material planted in MIA was not a bomb, instead, it was a minor explosive substance used in fireworks to add sparkle. While explaining the same, he used the word ‘Mini mini powder’ and the very same usage reduced HDK to a mere muse for memes.
