Bengaluru: The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has increased the price of milk and milk products with effect from Friday, January 31. The rates of all the products have been increased by Rs 2 per litre.

The KMF’s management had sought a price revision in December and now, after receiving approval from the state government, the new rates have been implemented from Friday itself.

As per the reversed rate, a litre of milk will now cost Rs 37 (previously Rs 35) and curds will cost Rs 43 per litre (previously Rs 41 per litre). The rates of other milk products have also been hiked.

Apart from this, the KMF has also increased the commission for the agents by 40 paise per litre.

KMF chairman Balachandra Jarakiholi stated that the increased prices will be used to provide insurance on the cattle of the milk suppliers, among other things.
