Bangalore: The sale of hard drinks is banned from Saturday May 4 till the completion of assembly elections, said metropolitan police commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar.
The additional security has been deployed in communally most sensitive 28 polling centers in the limits of metro, said Raghavendra. The security will be deployed in 6,450 polling centers across metro. The civil defence officers of 1,000, 4,000 central reserve force personnel and 17,000 police personnel are assigned the poll duty, added Raghavendra.
The strict actions will be taken on those engaged in illegal sale of hard drinks till Sunday May 5, added Raghavendra.
