Bengaluru: The state government approved the proposal sent by the consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) on the revision of the medical and dental fee structure. As per the proposal, the fee will go up by 15%, but the final fee structure is yet to be announced.
According to MR Jayaram, chairman, Karnataka Private Medical Colleges Association affiliated to the COMEDK, the state government approved the proposal.
According to the sources, there will not be any changes in the seat matrix. “The old seat matrix will continue, but there will be a slight increase in the fee structure,” informed an officer from the medical education department.
Meanwhile, the engineering fee structure is also expected to go up by 15%. “As the issue is very sensitive, the state government is likely to take a final decision only after the Lok Sabha election 2019,” he added.
