Bengaluru: With the dead lock over Manippadi report in the legislative Council refusing to find a solution, Governor Vajubhai Vala has sought a report from the state within 24 hours.

Responding to Vala’s request, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has assured that he will submit a detailed report on the issue within two days.
It may be recalled that Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy and members of BJP and Congress had sought the Governor’s intervention after the state government refused to table the report in the Council despite the chairman’s ruling to table it.
The opposition has been alleging that the government is trying to bail out many senior Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Qamarul Islam, Roshan Baig and others who have been named among those who have encroached wakf properties in the report submitted by former Minorities Commission chairman Anwar Manippadi.
