Mangaluru firing: High Court accepts PIL filled by freedom fighter Doreswamy

Bengaluru: The divisional bench of the Karnataka High Court, headed by Chief Justice of Karnataka Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, accepted the Public Interest Litigation ((PIL) by freedom fighter H S Doreswamy on the Mangaluru firing incident which claimed two lives.

The court directed the government to file a report on the action taken in connection with the complaints filed in the firing incident.

Advocate general Prabhulinga K Navadagi furnished the preliminary inquiry report submitted by the DC in a sealed cover.

He also informed the court that the CID is investigating the case.

H S Doreswamy was present in the court at the time of the hearing.

The court also rejected another PIL seeking an investigation by a Special Investigating Team (SIT) into the firing.
