Bengaluru: While the entire nation is mourning over the death of Pathankot martyrs, Kerala Police on Tuesday arrested a person for posting derogatory comment on Facebook against slain Lt Col Niranjan.
The 24-year-old Anwar was arrested by Malappuram district police from his house in Kodur and booked him on sedition charges (Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code).
Reportedly, Anwar posted a comment on social networking site, which read: “One trouble less, now! His wife will be given financial aid and a job, common man gets nothing! What a stinking democracy!”
The police initiated action when management of Malayalam newspaper ‘Madhyamam’ claimed that Anwar Sadik never worked with him, as against his profile which claims that he is an employee of the prestigious newspaper.
Report says that Anwar works as a salesman in ration shop and he deliberately mentioned the newspapers’s name in his profile so that people take his comment seriously.
