Bengaluru: The Sanjaynagar police have arrested a 25-year-old habitual offenders, who allegedly lured a 13-year-old girl by promising leftover wedding food before sexually assaulting her.

The police have identified the accused as Mallikarjuna M, a construction labourer from Kalaburagi. The police said that the accused was wanted in at least two criminal cases in Bengaluru.

According to the police, Mallikarjuna noticed the girl walking back from school alone on February 23. He approached her and lured her with the promise of food and took her on a motorcycle to a eucalyptus grove on the outskirts of the city where he allegedly sexually assaulted her before dropping her off near her house.

According to the police, the accused used a motorcycle stolen from Banashankari 3rd stage.
