Man beheads person who lent him money, surrenders to police with severed head

Bengaluru: In a rather bizarre incident, a man beheaded his rival and then brought the severed head to the police station before surrendering himself, late on Sunday night.

Manjunath (25) has been identified as the deceased. Shivakumar (26) is the accused who carried out the heinous act. Both are residents of Devanahalli.

According to police, Manjunath had lent money to Shivakumar few months ago. Shivakumar never returned him the money on repeated requests. Both developed rivalry on the issue over a period of time.

On Sunday too, Manjunath called Shivakumar and threatened him of dire consequences if his money was not returned. Raged by Manjunath’s threat call, Shivakumar hatched a plot and asked him to come near a vacant plot near Vishwanath Colony.

Soon after Manjunath approached the place, Shivakumar attacked him with machete and beheaded him. Shivakumar then brought the head of deceased and surrendered before police.

The accused is working as cab driver and the deceased was into petty business. Manjunath was a newly married, police said.
