Puttur: Excise officials have arrested one person and seized illegal liquor on Thursday.
The arrested is identified as Umesh Poojary from Mukru in Peraje.

One Activa Honda along with 17 litres of liquor has been seized.

The officials, while patrolling near Bambila, reportedly found the man moving in a suspicious manner.

When the officials stopped him and checked his vehicle they found copious amounts of liquor.

On being questioned, he revealed that the liquor he was transporting was to be given to one Suresh Gowda from Parane. It is learnt that Suresh Gowda is absconding.

Under the leadership of Puttur Deputy Superintendent of Excise Chandrappa, Excise inspector Shivaprasad, Excise officer Naveen Kumar along with staff Umesh, Praveen, Padmanabha and driver Balakrishna carried on the operation.
