Bengaluru: Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitely will inaugurate a two-day Make in India-Karnataka conference on February 13.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will preside over the inaugural ceremony of the conference while M Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Urban Development, Information and Broadcasting, Housing, Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Railways, Anantha Kumar, Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers will grace the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking with media persons, Minister for Industries and Tourism R V Deshpande said the two-day conference would have a total of 10 sessions; one of them is on ‘Make in India’. “Each focus sectors will have top industrialists deliberating on the sectoral issues, Karnataka’s action plan and recommend the state to sustain its competitive advantage. The regulatory hurdles will be discussed and the participation of the Central Government and the related state governments will ensure that each significant point is noted and included in government initiatives and the same is taken as action points to improve the business climate in both the state and country,” Deshpande said.
The minister said the Make in India-Karnataka conference is being held in association with Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).”We have received 4000 delegate registrations for all the sectoral sessions put together and the numbers are still pouring in. We have received confirmations of ambassadors and trade consulates of 25 to 30 countries,” the minister said.
The two-day conference will be held at Hotel Lalit Ashok.
