Bengaluru: The flower show at Lalbagh has always attracted large number of people because of the sheer beauty of the show. But, now the influx of flower lovers has shot up drastically, thanks to the new Metro Service.

The flower show inaugurated on Friday witnessed record number of visitors. On day two, ie on Saturday, August 5, as many as 21,000 visitors arrived at the venue, informed M Jagadish, Joint Director, Parks and Garden, Lalbagh here on Sunday.

“We received very good response for the flower show, which has been organised on the occasion of Independence Day. On the first day there were 12,000 visitors and on the second day it reached a romping 21,000, which included 3,000 children. On Sunday, we expect at least 50,000 visitors,” he said.

The New Metro connectivity is said to be the reason behind the increase in the inflow of visitors for the flower show. This week, over 23,879 people have travelled in metro which is six-fold increase in ridership, said a Metro official.
