Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old girl who had slipped into a soothing siesta under a tree lost her life after a car ran over her on Sunday.

The deceased is identified as Amulya. The girl is a native of Hosakote taluk who had come to her granny’s house on summer vacation.

The incident took place when a car, which was reversing ran over the girl who was fast asleep under a tree at Deo Marvel layout in Yelahanka town.

Police have arrested the driver Narasimha.

The accused is said to be studying diploma course and had taken up a cab driver’s job on part-time to meet his educational expenses.
