Bengaluru: Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar announced here on Tuesday that II PU PCMB students could go by the ‘Blow-up’ syllabus for this year.

Speaking to press persons Ratnakar said that although he was in total agreement with the PU Education Department’s decision to ask the students to study the complete syllabus, it was too late to announce it for this year’s exam.

The Minister clarified that the blow-up syllabus would be permitted only for this year and from the next academic year, students could have to study the complete syllabus.

Ratnakar also said that the State Government intends to introduce public examination for first year Pre-University from the next academic year as such a system would push students to take both the years of PU education equally seriously and this, in turn, would enable them to perform well in All India entrance tests. However, the decision is yet to be finalised, he added.
