Bengaluru: State Revenue department has given a clean chit to Chief Secretary Aravind Jadhav who was said to be involved in irregularities related to his mother’s land deal.
Revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa said that the department has not found any deviations in the land deal. “We checked the old and original documents. Jadhav had taken permission from the department, when his mother purchased the land. They sold the land and later purchased another piece of land. The land purchased did not belong to any SC/ST category and no rider was attached to the land,” he said.
When reporters asked about Jadhav’s alleged attempt to amalgamate the land by tampering with the software, the minister said that there was no violation of norms regarding the purchase of land by his mother in Anekal. However, he said he has ordered a new inquiry to get more documents related to the land transactions.
Jadhav was involved in a controversy over his mother getting into the land business and has got clean chit just 10 days before his three-month extension in service ends. His mother had purchased a agricultural land, converted it into a layout and had sold plots. Later, she purchased another chunk of agricultural land which had separate survey numbers. When the then Revenue Secretary reportedly refused to do the amalgamation, he was shunted out.
