Lalbagh Gardens: Rs 29 cr improvement proposal to be considered

Bengaluru: In the series of development, a proposal to upgrade infrastructure at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens at the given cost of Rs 29.20 crore has been considered by the State Government, informed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday June 21.

Accompanied by Bengaluru Urban district in-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, the CM went on a buggy inspecting the gardens.

Environmentalist Dr Yellappa Reddy met him and spoke about the requirements for Lalbagh. Reddy also impressed upon the chief minister the need to increase the entry fee at Lalbagh from Rs 10 to Rs 20.

Reddy said an Anthurium house, photo gallery, water treatment plant, upgraded gates, improved access roads and walking paths were needed. The first stop on the Chief Minister’s city rounds was Freedom Park where he inspected the space allotted for a multi-level cellar parking, expected to cost Rs 79.81 crore.
