Bengaluru: To come closer to tech-savvy voters in Karnataka, former Chief Minister and JD(S) State president H D Kumaraswamy has embraced the world of social media on Monday with an eye on the 2018 Assembly polls.

This is not the first time that Kumaraswamy has taken the social media route to reach out to people. He made his presence felt in December 2011, but was not an active participant.

Now, Kumaraswamy plans to interact with the public on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, and SoundCloud. He will also have live interactions once a month. He admitted that social media played a pivotal role in the BJP’s victory in the recent elections in Uttar Pradesh.

A team of 35 techies are busy projecting Kumaraswamy’s works and the future plans of JD(S) on social media. People can chat with him, besides airing grievances. “The days of my availability on Twitter and Facebook will be made known shortly,” he said.
