Bengaluru: As many as 29 police personnel in the state have been tested positive for the Covid-19, raising alarms in the department.

According to the data, seven policemen each in Belagavi and Hassan were tested positive for Covid 19.

In Bagalkot, four police personnel are infected. In Udupi-3, and Bengaluru urban-2 personnel have been tested positive.

In six other districts, one each police personnel have been tested positive. Three police stations have been sealed down following the positive cases.

According to the sources, now the department has decided to test all its personnel.

“There are 92,000 police personnel in the state. As they are the frontline warriors, tests will be carried out in a phased manner,” informed health department officers.
