Bengaluru: To meet the shortage of teachers in the government schools during current academic year, Chief Minister Bommai announced the recruitment of around 5,000 teachers.

Speaking at an event held to mark Teachers’ Day organised by the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Bommai said the decision was made after the request made by Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.

He suggested the teachers to study the new education policy and submit their suggestions on the same. Bommai said that the National Education Policy (NEP) is the best thing to happen in the education sector in post-independent India.
