Bengaluru: As many as 17 new cases were detected in Karnataka, on Sunday, April 12, as of 5 pm.
While two cases were reported from Kalaburgi, Belagavi has four cases, Mysuru had one and Bengaluru Urban has three cases.
What was worth noting is that Vijayapura registered its first COVID-19 case on Sunday and also had highest number of cases for the day with six new cases.
Since Saturday evening till Sunday noon, 11 new positive cases were reported across the state. However, the numbers shot up by six by evening, taking the total number of Covid-19 patients to 232 till date in the state.
In Kalaburgi, the elderly COVID-19 patient who had died recently has left the nurse who treated him and his daughter in-law infected.
In Belagavi, all the four cases are contact transmission from Patient no 150.
One case in Mysuru was in contact with the Pharma Company employee.
Contact tracing is under progress in five cases reported from Vijayapura.
Bengaluru Urban tops the state with 76 positive cases and one death, while Vijayapura ranks last with six pisitive cases.
