Bengaluru: Enemies within are far more dangerous than enemies outside. This proved out to be true for the Karnataka police after it was learnt that one of the very imporatnt informers of gangster Ravi Poojary was none other than a policeman himself.

Poojary was recently arrested from Senegal, a West African Country, where he lived as a businessman under fake identity.

He was wanted by Indian authorities in more than 60 cases and the Bengaluru police had requested Interpol to issue red corner notice against him.

However, despite the police leaving no stone unturned to nab the gangster, all the plans of the police only met failure over the last 15 years.

After his arrest in February, rumours are now rife that a police officer from Bengaluru passed on all valuable information to Poojary and helped him escape the police net so far.

It is said that the officer had constantly revealed to Poojary all the plans chalked out by the police to nab him.

Sources, on conditions of anonymity stated that the same cop had even helped Bannanje Raja, another gangster from coastal belt to foil all bids of the police to capture him.
