Bengaluru: On Friday December 10, an LoU (Letter of Understanding) has been signed between United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports to provide career guidance to 20,000 students in 50 colleges across the State through psychometric assessment and counselling. The move is done as part of a state-wide project known as ‘Code-Unnati,’ which aims to boost entrepreneurship and job opportunities.
According to sources, the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports will collaborate with SAP Labs, the Indian government, and the UNDP.
Digital skills which consist of 200 hours of the module will be provided to students. Fifty colleges have been identified to collaborate with the faculty and student communities, including Government Pre-University, ITIs, Polytechnics, and Arts and Science colleges.
Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Dakshina Kannada, and Raichur would be the first districts to implement the initiative.
