K’taka increases DA of Govt employees by 2.7 per cent

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai approved on Tuesday April 5 a 2.75 per cent increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for State Government employees with retrospective effect from January 1 this year, informed the State Finance Department.

According to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office, the decision will result in an additional annual expenditure of Rs. 1,447 Crore and the State Government have issued the orders in this regard. With this, government employees’ DA has been increased to 27.25 per cent of their basic pay from 24.50 per cent

According to the Finance Department, the increase in DA will benefit approximately six lakh employees and 4.5 lakh pensioners.
