Bengaluru: The fugitive ‘Godman’ Nityananda faces yet another legal trouble as the Karnataka High Court has quashed his bail granted in connection with a 10-year-old sexual harassment case.
Lenin Karuppan, Nityananda’s former driver had filed a case in the High Court requesting that his former employer’s bail that was granted in the year 2010 be dismissed.
Taking the plea into consideration, on Wednesday, February 5, Justice John Michael Cunha dismissed the bail. The court also directed the concerned officials to immediately take the ‘Godman’ into custody.
It can be recalled that Nityananda fled his ashram in Bidadi and flew to Ecuador and established his own island country named “Kailaasa”.
Nityananda has not appeared before the III Addl. District & Sessions Court, where his criminal cases are pending over 40 times. If proven that Nityananda is residing in a foreign island, then he should be arrested there first and then taken into custody by the police in India through the transit process.
