K’taka government issues fresh night, weekend curfew guidelines

Bengaluru: The government of Karnataka on Friday August 6, issued guidelines for the night and weekend curfew. 

Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai after reviewing the covid-19 situation with an expert committee issued the order. 

As per the order, the night curfew will be imposed from 9 pm to 5 am across the state. There will be a weekend curfew in the districts bordering Maharashtra (Belagavi, Bidar, Vijaypura, and Kalburagi) and Kerala (Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar) from Friday 9 pm to Monday 5 am.

Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy and milk booths, and animal fodder will be allowed to function from 5 am to 2 pm. Unnecessary movement of the public is strictly prohibited.

All gatherings including, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited. Marriages are allowed involving strictly 100 people adhering to the covid-19 guidelines. Cremations or funerals will be allowed with 20 people. Place of worships, temples, mosques, churches gurudwaras and other places are allowed to open and related activities pertaining to the places of worship permitted strictly adhering to the Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. However, jatras, temple festivals, procession and congregations are not allowed, according to the order.
