Bengaluru: In a late night drama, the Congress and JD(S) MLAs were relocated to Hyderabad’s Taj Krishna Hotel on Thursday amid fears of alleged poaching attempt by the BJP.
The development comes after Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa gave orders for withdrawal of security from Eagleton resort, where the Congress MLAs were staying until yesterday.
Since the opposition alliance too has staked claim to form the government, after a fractured mandate was announced in the polls it fears that the BJP, in order to prove it majority may poach their MLAs.
It was after a BJP leader was spotted lurking nearby the hotel where the JD(S) MLAs were staying that the decision to move the MLAs at night itself was taken.
In the midst of conflicting statements given by few Congress leaders that they are headed towards Kochi and Puducherry, it is now gathered that the MLAs have been taken to Hyderabad’s Taj Krishna Hotel.
Another charge that is being made against the Centre is that they denied permission to the MLAs to take off in special flights. The allegations has however been refuted by Civil Aviation ministry Jayant Sinha.
