Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 1200 to 1300 extra buses between September 2 to 4 to clear the rush on account of Gowri-Ganesha festival. Special buses will be operated from various places of intra and interstate to Bengaluru on September 5.
According to a press release, the KSRTC will operate special buses from Kempegowda bus station to Dharmastala, Kukke Subramanya, Shimoga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belgavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalburgi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati and other places.
Special buses from Mysore Road satellite bus station will be operated towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri routes. Special premier buses will also be operated from Shanthinagar BMTC bus stand to Madurai, Kumbhakonam, Trichy, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and other places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. According to the press release, special buses for passengers who have made advance reservation will be operated from Mysore Road Satellite bus station towards North-West (Hubballi, Dharwad, Belgaum, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, etc) and North-East (Gulbarga, Bellary, Raichur, Hospet, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, etc) regions of Karnataka, while buses with no advance reservation will be operated from Kempegowda bus station.
Special buses for those passengers who have advance reservation will be operated from Sri Basaveshwara Bus Station (Peenya) towards north-east (Kalburgi, Ballari, Raichur, Hosapete, Koppala, Yadgir and Bidar).
The advance reservation for the special and scheduled buses can be made at 171 KSRTC counters in Bengalurucity, 17 counters in Mysuru and 35 counters in Mangaluru and other 230 computerised reservation counters across the State.
