Bengaluru: Intelligent transport system Project of KSRTC, Mysuru has been selected for the National e-Governance Gold Award under the “Innovative use of ICT by State Government PSUs/Co operatives/Federations/ Societies” category.
For the first time a State public transport in India has won the National e-Governance Gold Award. KSRTC Earlier in 2009-10 also had won National e-Governance Silver Award for its Online Passenger Reservation System-AWATAR.
With a view to recognize and promote excelence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives, the Union Government and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) presents the National e-Governance Awards every year during the National Conference on e-Governance under 12 different categories.
Out of 485 nominated projects under three phases, 160 projects were shortlisted. As many as 42 projects were selected for the presentation before juries, representing experts in the field of IT and Governance.
