
Bengaluru: As an internal fight for the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President has erupted amongst senior Karnataka Congress leaders, the party high command has instructed the former chief minister and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah to attend a meeting on Monday, January 13, in order to discuss recent developments within the party.
According to party sources, Siddaramaiah is expected to reach Delhi on Monday evening and join the party’s leaders for a meeting which will be chaired by AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
As per reports, Sonia Gandhi has called for an urgent meeting on Monday as she is all set to leave for a ten-day foreign trip on Tuesday.
At the meeting, Karnataka Congress-in-charge K C Venugopal and senior leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge are expected to be present.
Party sources have informed that a decision on the next KPCC president will be taken by the party’s high command after it analyses the report submitted by senior leaders like Madhusudhan Mistry and others.
