Bangalore : KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwar   has rubbished rumours that he would be offered the post of deputy chief minister  in the Siddaramaiah cabinet. Parameshwar said the issue is left to the discretion of the high command.

Speaking to reporters here, Parameshwar said the Congress workers need not be disheartened over the Lok Sabha election results. “There will be Congress as long as there is the Sun and the Moon. Instead of feeling let down, the party workers must strive to strengthen the party with renewed vigour. They must take the achievements of the state government to the people,” he said.

Parameshwar said he has no information on the cabinet  reshuffle. “Before that is done, the party must introspect on the election results. Our Party is a system.  When there is any loophole in this system, efforts must be made to plug them,” he said. A meeting would be convened to discuss the issue, he further informed.

“The defeat in the Lok Sabha elections cannot be said ultimate. If the state government functions to the satisfaction of the people, then naturally people will once again incline towards the Congress,” the KPCC Chief struck a note of confidence.
