Bengaluru: For the first time after he was appointed president of the Congress party’s state unit in April, DK Shivakumar will meet the party high command on Tuesday. He departed for New Delhi on Monday in a special flight.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, DK Shivakumar was unable to meet the AICC leaders after he was appointed as KPCC president. “This is a thanksgiving visit,” said a Congress leader.
According to party leaders, DKShi is likely to seek permission to rejig the party’s state unit. “He is eyeing the Chief Minister’s post in 2023. So, he now wants to strengthen the party from the base,” said a close associate.
His brother, MP DK Suresh is accompanying him during his New Delhi visit.
