Kondajji, Lingappa, Nanjundi expected to make it to K’taka Legislative Council

Bengaluru: Senior Congress functionary Mohan Kondajji, former Ramanagara MLA C M Lingappa and Vishwakarma community leader and well-known businessman K P Nanjundi are likely to be nominated as members of Karnataka Legislative Council.

It is gathered that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G Parameshwara held discussions with All-India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel in New Delhi on Friday and finalized the trio’s names for the Legislative Council. As many as 10 names including Kannada writer Baragur Ramachandrappa and former Bengaluru mayor P R Ramesh were shortlisted for the three vacant seats.

Kannada actor Jaggesh, educationalist and social worker P V Krishna Bhat and BJP leader Lehar Singh had occupied the three seats during the previous BJP regime. Lehar Singh was recently elected to the Council from the Legislative Assembly constituency.
