Bengaluru: Veteran Congress leader Mallikharjun Kharge, BJP leaders Ashok Gasti and Eranna Kadadi took oath as the members of the Rajya Sabha, on Wednesday.

All the three took oath in Kannada as Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu administered the oath.

JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda was absent for the event. He is likely to take oath on an auspicious day in the month of Shravana.

Speaking on the occasion, Kharge stated that he will actively lead opposition charge against the central government, which is engaged in the anti-people activities.

He also lashed out at the state government for its failure to contain the spread of the Covid-19.
