Karnataka students outshine others in ISC-ICSE examinations

Bengaluru: Outshining the others, students from Karnataka recorded a whopping pass percentage of 99.77% in the ICSE and 99.49% in the ISC examinations.

The results of the examination were announced by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations on Tuesday, May 7.

According to the authorities, 18,217 students from 321 schools appeared for the ICSE examination, while for the ISC exam, 1,769 students from 35 schools appeared.

Girls did better than the boys with a pass percentage of 99.89% in the ICSE examination. The boys achieved a pass percentage of 99.65%. The same trend was seen in the
ISC exam as well, as the girls secured a pass percentage of 100% while the boys registered a 98.94% pass percentage.

Special categories

According to authorities, 869 Scheduled Caste candidates appeared for the ICSE examination, achieving a pass percentage of 99.54%. As many as 200 Scheduled Tribe candidates took the examination achieving a pass percentage of 99.50%. They added that 5,978 Other Backward Classes candidates took the examination achieving a pass percentage of 99.73%

In the ISC examination, 36 Scheduled Caste candidates appeared, achieving a pass percentage of 97.22% and 14 Scheduled Tribe candidates appeared, achieving a pass percentage of 100.00%. As many as 146 Other Backward Classes candidates took the examination achieving a pass percentage of 99.32%.
