Bengaluru: The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in Karnataka will be postponing the MBBS examinations which were scheduled to be held from September 9 onwards.

It can be recalled that earlier this week, the RGUHS had postponed the final year exams of the BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) in response to the students’ sustained demonstrations, where they cited the COVID-19 pandemic as a serious issue. They also raised the issue that some students who had returned to their hometowns were unable to return to the institution.

In a circular, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr KB Linge Gowda informed that the MBBS and BDS exams will now be held on October 13.

With this latest development, pharmacy students have also demanded that their exams be cancelled.

Additionally, the students have submitted a memorandum to the university administration, requesting them to conduct the exams based only on the offline classes as many students were unable to follow online classes and courses like MBBS and BDS can’t be taught online.
