Bengaluru: On Wednesday August 25 Karnataka reported 1,224 new Covid-19 cases, reaching a total of cases to 29.42 lakh, with 22 deaths bringing the total to 37,206.

1,668 patients were discharged on the same day, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 28,85,700.

A Health Department notification stated that there were 19,318 active cases.

According to the report, Bengaluru Urban had the most cases (309) and three fatalities.

With 217 new infections and six deaths, the Dakshina Kannada district, which borders Kerala, remained a major Covid-19 hotspot.

Udupi 130, Mysuru 102, Hassan 95, and Tumakuru 52 were among the districts that reported new cases.

There were no infections and no deaths in the Gadag district.
