Bengaluru: Two days after increasing reservations for SC and ST communities, the State Government has decided to merge three departments. As a result, around 2,000 jobs will come down.

A decision in this regard was taken by the State Cabinet sub-committee on administrative reforms.

Agriculture, horticulture, and sericulture departments will be merged to bring down the government’s non-plan expenditures.

The government has also decided to cancel all the City planning boards. Instead, only one board will be formed for a district.

Presently tens of boards are formed for each area in a district.

The government is also likely to merge several other departments to bring down the non-planning expenditure of the State Government.
