Bengaluru: The State Cabinet will meet on August 10 to discuss the severe damage was done to agriculture, roads, and other infrastructure by excessive rain across the State and the steps required to resolve these issues.
According to official teams who surveyed the damage throughout the State, over 5,771 hectares of agriculture land were reportedly damaged by rain and flooding between the first week of June and July 16 and another 10,984 hectares between July 16 and the second week of August.
According to sources, 370 landslides have been reported in the State. The PWD and district infrastructure teams estimate that 650 bridges and 3,600 km of roads have been damaged. Over 400 heads of cattle died, and 16,000 houses were also affected owing to the incessant rains.
