Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced on Monday August 8 that he has decided to visit all of the state’s border districts with more Covid-19 cases and will assess the situation in the coming days.
He stated that, “Today, I will be travelling in the Mysuru district. I will meet with officials there to discuss the Covid situation. Likewise, I have decided to travel to all of the border districts where there are more Covid cases.”
Bommai told reporters here that he will also visit Chamundeshwari temple and Suttur Mutt, a major Lingayat seminary in the region, on his way to Mysuru.
Concerned about the virus spreading from Kerala and Maharashtra, the Karnataka government has imposed a weekend curfew in all districts that border the two states.
Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi are the districts bordering Maharashtra that have weekend curfews, whereas Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagara are the districts bordering Kerala that have weekend curfews.
He’s also assigned Ministers to each of the districts, instructing them to visit and personally monitor the situation.
