Bengaluru: Minister for Transport and Scheduled Tribes Welfare B Sriramulu said the government has called an all-party meeting for October 8 in Bengaluru to discuss a proposal to increase the reservation facility for SC/ST.

Speaking to mediapersons after the inauguration of Mini Vidhana Soudha at Kudligi, he said that a decision would be made after collecting the opinions and suggestions of all political party leaders.

He asserted that the BJP and the government would uphold their promise to the people. He claimed that Sathish Jarkiholi, a Congress MLA, had said that no one should take part in the Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti programme. This is a loss to the community. He is aware of the law, hence he should not speak like this. No one should politicise the Valmiki Jayanti issue, not even the seers or Jarkiholi, he added.
