Kannada theatre icon Master Hirannaiah no more

Bengaluru: Veteran theatre personality Master Hirannaiah passed away on Thursday, May 2 at BGS Global Hospital. He was 85-years-old and was suffering from renal disorder.

His mortal remains would be brought to his residence at Tyagarajnagar in the city at 12 noon.

He had revolutionised Kannada theatre through his work and had acted in about 30 films.

Born on February 15, 1934 in Mysuru, he is known for his dialogue-oriented plays and shot to fame with his famous play named ‘Lanchavatara’, which crossed 10,000 shows across the state.

‘Kapimushti’ is another play of him. He father K Heerannaiah too was a theatre personality.
