Ramanagara: The RSS, which is trying to strengthen its presence in the Vokkaliga strong belt of Ramanagara, has organised a ‘Hindu Samajotsava’ today in the district. RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat will deliver the keynote address at 4.30 pm.

Several senior BJP leaders, including C P Yogeshwar, will be attending this meet that is being seen as an attempt by the BJP and RSS to infiltrate the Vokkaliga community, which presently supports only the JD(S) and Congress parties.

“The Hindu Samajotsava is being organised outside the coastal belt for the first time. The RSS chose Ramanagara as it is the epicentre of the Vokkaliga strong belt, in order to take on the JD(S) and Congress,” explained a BJP leader.

As part of the event, a procession will be held at 2.30 pm. Ramanagara being a particularly sensitive town, tight security arrangements have been made.
