Bengaluru: With Kalasa-Banduri deadlock ceasing to see a solution the Assembly is likely to adopt a one-line resolution on Tuesday seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention for an out-of-Tribunal settlement for the dispute involving the states of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
Even as the BJP opposed stating that PM cannot intervene in matter that is already before the tribunal, Water Resources Minister M B Patil informed Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa about the decision and added that the PM can solve the dispute out-of-tribunal by convening a meeting of the Chief Ministers of the three states.
Patil is likely to move the motion today, Tuesday, March 29.
Earlier, even the JD(S) demanded for passing a similar resolution.
However, when the BJP members demanded the CM to convince the opposition parties in Maharashtra and Goa for an out-of-court settlement, Siddaramaiah opposed it on the ground that they cannot expect the state to convince the opposition parties of other states.
