Bengaluru: Former minister KJ George is all set to take oath as a minister on Monday, September 26 after getting a clean chit from Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in DySP Ganapathi suicide case recently.
The swearing-in is to be held on Monday according to media reports. There are few TV channels reporting that George might be reinstated into the Cabinet and re-allotted the Bengaluru Development portfolio.
George was given a clean chit some days ago by the CID, in connection with Mangaluru DySP Ganapathi’s death. Ever since, there has been speculation that George might be re-instated.
The minister was forced to resign as Bengaluru Minister after an FIR was filed against him.
DySP Ganapathi in his last interview to a local TV channel in Madikeri alleged that George and IPS officers AM Prasad and Pronab Mohanty had harassed him, and were responsible for his impending suicide. George resigned from his post as a minister after Ganapathi’s son Nehal lodged a private complaint with a court in Madikeri, which ordered an FIR to be filed against George.
